Jazmine M. Beatty
She is a human-centered designer and artist. Passion, commitment, and empathy for others guide her psyche. She has been immersed in making art her entire life; creating and organizing artwork both in youth art classes and as an adult art teacher. Through her undergrad design courses, she learned to solve problems and convey deeper conceptual messages. She sees Communication Design as a way to conceptualize injustice and communicate it to a broader audience.
As a black woman who has experienced discrimination, and seen it affect those she loves, Jazmine has a deeper understanding of how inequality can affect people. She believes her experience with race has helped contribute to her passion for social justice. This passion has led to her current pursuit of developing a community arts program for underprivileged adolescents to collaborate with peers and professionals on their artistic endeavors.
